Whimsical Tales jam-packed with One-Liners. Denzil uses pedantry, puns and parodies to ponder the future. Jokes about robots, relationships and religion. What was the very first dad joke ever told? What might happen when he dies? And why does he insist on singing? Ricky Hunt is tall, gay, working class, and lost in Walthamstow Village. He grew up in a surreal Essex menagerie with 30 pet cats, a red living room he called ‘Hell’, and a mum who thought MDF and a stencil could fix anything. Now he’s living in a fake London village, trapped between oat milk and opera... literally. His boyfriend directs it. This debut work-in-progress stand-up hour dances between buffet omelettes in Ibiza, awkward opera intermissions, the ghosts of Clacton past, and the existential threat of phone notifications. A poetic panic on a journey from Pov' to less pov'. If you...

JUL 31, AUG 1-17 at 21:15 (60 min) - Pay What You Can

A couple of comedians from Spain come to Edinburgh to do what they do best: say the wrong thing at the wrong time. 'From Spain with love' is a shared stand-up show from Laura Murillo and Raúl Diego, a just-married couple who bring sharp jokes, questionable life choices and weird thoughts to share with everyone in exchange for a couple of laughs. The humour is dark, the accents are real. And the show walks that thin line between honest and inappropriate — where the magic happens! Come if you enjoy stand up and laughing at things you're not sure you're supposed to. From Spain — with...

It's new. It's bold. It's classic. It's natural. It's The Natural starring Andrew Portelli (celebrated comedian), and it's a new type of stand-up comedy inspired by Susan Boyle. It's classic stand-up but with a fresh exciting twist you haven't seen. And it will make you fall in love again. It's a show about finding your voice. It’s about finding a way to live that lets you smile every day. But mostly it's an hour of very funny stand-up. 'Andrew Portelli is too funny to ever make it big in this country. He’ll either have to don a blazer or move overseas. See him while you can!' Becky L...

Walk on Stage Naked is a sharp and often funny celebration of vulnerability and openness in all of its forms. “Walk on stage naked” was one of the first pieces of advice I got as an actor - hide nothing, show everything and let that bring out the character. Here I walk on stage naked and ask the audience to laugh with, through and sometimes at some of our most fragile moments. Messy and extremely unrequited love, stories nobody tells about things nobody asked about, a dazzling reflection on what life is like at 3am staring at a computer screen on a joyful date with existential dread.
