Angela Bra - Secret Diary of a Bingo Call Girl

As the founder of her own Absolutely Dabulous Drag Bingo, Angela Bra has seen it all. Hen do high jinx, butlers in the buff, glamorous grandmas and mothers escaping their family for the night. She’s handled more balls than a gynaecologist on a pay-per-view contract and can do it whilst leading the Macarena. The queen of ball based bedlam comes to Edinburgh with a brand new show packed with original songs and stories from the front line of the party bingo circuit, wrapped up in a round of her very own “Great British Bingo” for everyone to play.

A multiple award-winner and nominee for both her festival shows and drag performances, in 2025 Angela Bra won “Best Cabaret” at the 2025 Bay Fringe Festival and was a finalist at Mancheser G-A-Y’s premier drag competition, “Purple Reign”. Previously, she has won Best Comedy at the Morecambe Fringe, been award-nominated for comedy twice at Buxton Fringe and been a finalist in both Mamma’s Drag Battle (Leeds) and The Crown (Manchester), as well as being a venue finalist for Drag Idol in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

This year we have two entry methods: Free & Unticketed or Pay What You Can
Free & Unticketed: Entry to a show is first-come, first served at the venue - just turn up and then donate to the show in the collection at the end.
Pay What You Can: For these shows you can book a ticket to guarantee entry and choose your price from the Fringe Box Office, up to 30 mins before a show. After that all remaining space is free at the venue on a first-come, first-served bases. Donations for walk-ins at the end of the show.

News and Reviews for this Show

Angela Bra (pronounced similarly to candelabra) performs a 50-minute show based on a girl’s night out. The show is a drag comedy act that has everything a girl’s night loves – great tunes, cabaret, party games and even a game of bingo with prices.

The show was not what I expected. I thought it would centre on diary extracts but it did not. However, this did not affect the show at all, it was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the turnout was not the best but Angela made it work with the little audience. For the type of show that involved movement from the audience, the venue was on the small side so I could imagine doing party games would be harder with more people. For the show I attended, it added to the humour and fun.

Angela involves the audience into the show, making witty comments to answers but all in good faith and the content is tame. No one is made to feel embarrassed and Angela commands the crowd well, getting them involved in the show throughout.

Unlike many drag acts, there are no lip-syncing tunes, all tunes are original, catchy and sung with audience participation. There was an impressive small screen with a pre-made music video and subtitles for the song if people wanted to sing along with the whole tune.

The party games and bingo during the show were really class! I could see this show being a great fun weekend night out with a group of pals. It was really funny with the small crowd I was part of but that for me is what added how fun it was. If you’re looking for a fun, girls night segment to your evenings, definitely see this show. Glossop’s Queen of the Dabber, Miss Angela Bra (rhymes with candelabra, you filthy beast) hosts an evening of jokes, hip-hop and bingo in Secret Diary of a Bingo Call Girl. Introducing us to the fine art of Drag Bingo, we sing along to songs about Buffy Butlers and Hen Dos, take part in some riotously funny games and, if you get a full house, compete to win a bottle of house wine (a small one, she’s not made of money). It’s a lively, laughter-filled and thoroughly good-natured show – the kind of show where you make friends with the people sitting next to you. Angela is a warm and funny comic creation, and you could tell that everyone in the audience had a terrific time. 4 stars. Click Here For Review
