Cabaret for the End of the World

CABARET FOR THE END OF THE WORLD

Written and peformed by Cathy Wippell

Well, fuck. Things aren’t looking great eh? Life’s been a little hard since day zero, hasn’t it? The nuclear winter’s setting in bitter this year. And there’s a cost to kindness but nobody can afford it. It’s every rat for themselves.

An accordion, a pistol and bottle of home-brewed absinthe. That’s all you need to get by in this post-apocalyptic wasteland. Well, it’s all I need, at least. It’s hard to remember a time when we possessed so much.

Anyhoooooo, why not celebrate your sorry existence on this horrific Earth by plodding down to what remains of Bar Fifty in Edinburgh for songs, storytelling and survival tips?

Oh, and just a little warning – this one ain’t for the faint of heart.

All my love – if such a thing exists anymore –

Montselier :(

Reviews:

'Cathy Wippell is superb. A captivating and haunting performance and story that kept me in the palm of her hand and left me feeling slightly concerned for the future for days after… But at least we’ll still have Cabaret right?!' - Independent Horror Society

"The storytelling is fantastic. Within minutes Wippell conjures a rich post-apocalyptic world." - Lottie's London Reviews

Content warnings: graphic descriptions of violence, nuclear warfare and depression…alongside a healthy dose of foul language.
