Mike McAlpine: First Class Ticket

“MIKE McALPINE: First Class Ticket”

A brand new musical comedy solo by Mike McAlpine.

Boarding completed and ready for take off!

In the holiday mood? Then come on board at 13.15 every day (not 12th/13th August) at West Port Oracle’s Flight Club, just along from Grassmarket!

Acclaimed solo performer Mike McAlpine returns with his fourth full-length one-man show, "MIKE McALPINE: First Class Ticket", a riotous cabaret with wings. Expect package holiday-themed physical comedy, appalling dream-destination characterisations, vacation-based ditties and sozzled meanderings. All inclusive!

We all love to count down the days to that romantic city break or our well-earned annual hols in the sun. But before we sip our first pina colada, savour a delicious cafe con leche or saunter along the promenade in the warm, relaxed atmosphere of our chosen destination, we have to get there. Just get there! Is that too much to ask? A simple two-hour journey! How lovely when it all goes without a hitch; What a ball-ache when the flight to Malaga's delayed, the bags are in Hong Kong and the kids are in Prague!

But today you're in safe hands. Today your experienced and caring flight team under First Officer Mike McAlpine, welcome you on board your flight to paradise. The propellers are set in motion (ok, not the newest model) and we’re off! Up, up and away, secure in the knowledge that the well-oiled cogs of our Mac-Air flight TS15 to the sun (sponsored by Smirnoff) will send you down those aircraft steps feeling rested, refreshed and excited about the fourteen days of fun and frolics that lie ahead. Enjoy!

“Mike McAlpine: First Class Ticket” follows in the footsteps of Mike's previous solo hits, A Slice of Elvis, Full Integriert and Drama Chameleon.

Audience reactions 2024:

"Well worth yir time!"

"He is such a skilled performer!"

"We were on the back row clapping and singing along."

Solo slapstick, song, dance and fun. At 30,000 feet!

Welcome on board and keep it moving to the back, please!
