2 and a Half Women

This show is a mixed bag of treats. What flavour will you get today? Who knows, but the calories will absolutely count!

3 queer international comedians (Ann Vaida, Annick Adelle and Mari Volar) bring their WIP solo shows to Edinburgh and band together to make their solo debuts less harrowing.

In their perspective work the 3 comedians aim to provide the following:

Mari Volar is presenting the world with a feminist manifesto for all aspiring trophy wives.

Ann Vaida invites you along to existing in a completely arbitrary sh*tstorm of a society, and other jokes.

Annick Adelle offers the world standup shows are never the same: in the moment, with the crowd - true magic unfolds.

Who are these 2 and a half women, you ask?

Annick Adelle originally comes from Europe and has lived in the States for over 9 years now. Currently living in New York, Annick performs in New York mainly but all over the country and recently released a Spotify/Apple Music album.

Dubbed one of the strongest crowd work talents there currently is, Annick will take you through an unforgettable evening of live standup comedy with your input, in the moment, funny but with the love, thought inspiring, allowing funny awkward moments and also talking about new topics such as gender identity, quitting corporate to follow your dream and generally being an immigrant/living in a different country which will leave you going “huh! I never thought of it that way”.

A must see talent: ladies and gentlemen and everything in between – Annick Adelle!

Mari Volar is a stand up comedian, musician and event producer from Estonia.

Even though she currently lives in Germany, she can often be seen on various international stages across the continent. Sometimes you just need a break (that isn’t KitKat).

Mari proudly brings more feminism into her comedy and more comedy into her feminism, creating an over-the-top mix that simply cannot be missed.

She’s founded two international comedy collectives, co-founded one comedy festival and is currently touring with a two-woman show “The Clitoris Act” as well as working on her solo hour “Overconfident+Underprepared” which was also featured in the WICF Manchester programme in 2023.

Mari has taken part in Edinburg Fringe in 2023, Tallinn Fringe in 2022+2023, moderated the Hundertpro performing arts festival in 2022 and 2023 as well as being featured in one of the few English speaking shows at Cologne Comedy Festival in 2023.

Ann Vaida, a comedian based in Estonia, has changed her high-stakes work in the backrooms of politics and PR to the even higher-stakes work of making other people laugh. She loves the absurdities of life and will gladly stick your nose in it, too. Her jokes are like a puzzle that you playfully put together and the range of topics is wide – from getting groceries to what the hell is being a human really about.

She even admits that some of her jokes are actually sad if you think about them for a long enough time, and she is proud of that. She has toured two solo hours in Estonia, written for newspapers and TV, and like every other comedian, has a podcast.
