Located on Hanover Street, The Hanover Tap was completely refurbished in 2019 and it focuses on delivering great beer and food in a comfortable urban environment. Previously this bar was the Jekyll & Hyde, and has been one of the Free Festival's longest running venues - literally just around the corner from George Street and Princes Street Gardens.

This year we have two entry methods: Free & Unticketed or Pay What You Can
Free & Unticketed: Entry to a show is first-come, first served at the venue - just turn up and then donate to the show in the collection at the end.
Pay What You Can: For these shows you can book a ticket to guarantee entry and choose your price from the Fringe Box Office, up to 30 mins before a show. After that all remaining space is free at the venue on a first-come, first-served bases. Donations for walk-ins at the end of the show.

After a very successful 2025 debut show “A Horseless Rodeo”, Shannon Brooke is back and she still is NOT talking about horses! “Tonally, she walks a tightrope — absurd, honest, dark, heartfelt — and never loses her balance”. - One4review “A working dichotomy between sunniness and edge” - Edinburgh Laughter Bulletin ...

Ryan Mold: Resistant In my new stand-up show Resistant, I take a funny, honest look at what happens when life changes faster than I can keep up. From technology that confuses me, to government rules that make no sense, to the creeping reality of getting older — it all feels a bit harder than it used to. I’ll be sharing my frustrations with self-checkouts that think I’m stealing, apps that constantly need updating, and politicians insisting everything’s fine while the rest of us are just trying to survive the week. I’m baffled by cashless pubs, arguing with voice assistants, and clinging ...
