Asian American Cultural Confusion

What do a British Chinese woman and an American expat have in common? More than you might think! In Asian American Cultural Confusion, Shuang Teng and Rabiah Coon team up for a hilarious split-bill show that dives into the awkward, surprising, and sometimes absurd realities of life in the UK.

Shuang moved to the UK as a child from China, bringing with her a rich heritage that sometimes clashes with her British identity. Rabiah landed on these shores as an adult, bringing her American upbringing along for the ride. Together, they explore everything from the joys of British small talk to the complexities of explaining their families' traditions to confused Brits.

With sharp wit and heartfelt storytelling, Shuang and Rabiah invite you into their worlds, sharing the ups, downs, and all the wonderfully awkward moments in between. This show is packed with laugh-out-loud stories about adjusting—or stubbornly not adjusting—to life in a new country. Whether you’re an expat yourself, a Brit curious about the world beyond, or just someone who loves a good laugh, this show will have you nodding along, saying “I’ve been there,” and wiping away tears of laughter.

Come for the culture clash, stay for the comedy. Asian American Cultural Confusion is a must-see show that will have you thinking about identity, belonging, and the ways we all try to find our place—no matter where we come from.
