The Student Becomes the Mistress

At a time when norms around sex and relationships are changing fast, it’s easy to feel lost. Comedian Carly Blair certainly does, but fortunately she has a friend with wisdom and experience to spare: Sally Porter, a former dominatrix-turned-comedian. And now you do too! During the show, Carly and Sally will cover topics such as dating, sex, and how NOT to electrocute a man’s genitals, and at the end the audience will get the chance to ask the two ladies for their possibly wise, possibly dubious advice.

About the comedians:

Carly Blair is a not-your-typical-American American who's been trying to shove her square peg-shaped self into Amsterdam's round hole with admirable, or perhaps foolish, persistence for the last 16 years. Her brainy and bawdy jokes cover a broad range of topics, but are always deeply rooted in her personal experience. She's performed across Europe and in the US and the UK, and was long-listed in the 2023 Funny Women competition.

In a past life, Britain-born, Netherlands-based comedian Sally Porter worked as a dominatrix. Nowadays she leaves audiences in stitches with her hilarious tales of working in a sex dungeon. Her clients ranged from bricklayers to Members of Parliament, and their encounters ranged from run-of-the-mill (if there exists such a thing in BDSM) to total mayhem. She’s performed across Europe and the UK and opened for Mr. Dark Room at the Utrecht International Comedy Festival.
