Wiki Knows Best – Mythical Islands

Wiki Knows Best – Mythical Islands

A one-woman show – part comedy, part edutainment, part love letter to the world at large and Europe in particular.

This show will take you on a journey to faraway places you didn’t know existed – ever heard of Hy-Brasil? – and down the rabbit holes of your own backyard, all the while proving that learning and exploring can be fun. Or at least funny.

An adventure. An expedition to go where many have gone before. The opportunity to look with fresh eyes on old sights, and find the gold that’s only available to you.

An exploitation of the (un)availability of information, an attempt to summon the world according to Wiki, a wild ride on the legacy of adventurers, tall-talers, fancy-courting jokesters. Or are they?

Aren’t all explorers just those who feel lost at home? Aren’t all storytellers just attempting to find their place in the world, with their feet firmly on the ground and their heads in the clouds? And isn’t this what draws us to them?

A genre-bending journey for every inquisitive soul and smart Alec, for the adventurous, the smartypants and yarn spinners. Learn new things about the world you’re living in, and get answers to questions you didn’t even have. All to be taken with a grain of salt – or a wink of the eye.

Suitable for all ages (no obscenities/adult themes), though a certain understanding of irony will be helpful. Suggested for audiences 14+

Running time: 45 minutes.
