Ignored for centuries by a misogynistic patriarchy it is now time to reclaim their place: Showcasing works by 26 female classical composers from all walks of life: They might have been Queer, Black, Disabled, Jewish, Migrants, Wives, Mothers, Spinsters, Carers, Freelancers, Employees, Teachers, Performers, Aristocrats, Commoners, European, American, Young or Old; but they have one thing in common: all were ignored, usurped and push out of the musical canon by men.
This one-song-per-composer recital introduces a wide variety of works from from 16th to 21st cent. Performed by soprano Tamara Stein with backing tracks by Richard Black.
