Located on the edge of the Bruntsfield Links is the Golf Tavern. Founded in 1456 the Tavern was previously known as the Golf Hotel. It has served many a golf player, and according to Hamilton is: By far the oldest known golfing pub. Sport was encouraged in the vicinity of the inn – cockfighting, boxing and games of chance – and it was natural that the innkeeper had a role in early Scottish golf.

I am Danny Nee. I am either an Irish man or a Chinese man. I leave that up to you to judge. I hablo espanol and parler francais and I will tell you about this. I play guitar and will release an album soon so i do have a sensitive side which seeks to reflect on my emotions more openly rather than just covering it up by comedy all the time. I am from the west highland of Scotland but live in Glasgow so I went from nearly getting killed by boredom to nearly getting killed by knife users as they are called in more affluent areas....

If you’re looking for unbridled enthusiasm, thwarted by the prospect of middle age, this is the show for you. Eleri’s half of the show will be like a Ted-Talk if humanity hated itself. She will lecture you about the art of being a phenomenally basic millennial. Learn how deal with heartbreak, peer pressure, zero hour contracts and what to do with asthmatic dogs purchased from a drug dealer in exchange for an Iceland frozen pizza. “A force of nature and a full throttled Idiot” Logan Murray. Esyllt will provide balance and proceed to explain how everything beyond the daily grind is ...

Despite the unfortunate disappearance of their third member, Evers and Booth must fulfil their contractual obligations to Eastern European sponsor Dank! (3-in-1 carpet cleaner, antifreeze and feminine moistwipe). Among those helping them are: unelectronic Amish house band Bounty of Beards; hulahooping dominatrix Barbara; and Yorkshire-based Yankophile T-Bone. Not forgetting Katerina, the miserable face of Dank! “Finely written sketches with lo-fi elements and double entendres galore ... Masters of the most unlik...

This show was going to be titled "I Used to Buy Meth From My Friends' Dad" but that would have meant leaving out all material about the other drugs, the sex dungeon, the dog food, and everything else in between. These true stories sound like lies because they are delivered to you by someone who looks like preschool teacher but sounds like she gives away quarters at a casino. This curated mess is tasteless and chronicles the life and times of Katharyn Henson, a woman with a penchant for hedonism but the work ethic and credit score of the most text book Capricorn. She is not a doctor, she is not...

Luke Chilton (BBC Radio 4, Radio 4extra,) and Joe Bates (BBC Radio 4extra, 6music) are two comedians that have been on journeys. Luke’s was a journey of the mind, when side-effects from anti-malaria tablets led to a psychotic episode deep in the Thai jungle. Joe’s was a journey of the coach on the M1 southbound, to pursue his dream of having enough money to upgrade to a better coach, and, eventually, the train. Their journeys have led them to Edinburgh, and they’ll be bringing their very different styles and stories to this brilliant 2 part show....

Kirsty Brinkman (Barshens) is bringing her work in progress stand up hour to the Fringe. Having written the show some time ago, she has been reworking the entire thing to include: jokes (maybe), stories (probably) and something about an identity crisis and growing up emo (hopefully). She's a bit of a legend, she's a wildcard and she has been described as "the funniest person I have ever met" on two separate occasions, by two very close friends, with (fairly) minimal pressure. Please consider joining her for a sure-to-be fun hour of trying new and funny stuff (broadly speaking). ...

Synesthesia: the Musical, a colorful story told with music; written and performed by Jillian Vitko. She gives you a raw look at her experiences of love and heartbreak through the lens of synesthesia, a rare condition where she experiences colors through her other senses and through other people. She can smell purple and taste green. She can fall in love with someone who's blue. This allows her a unique glimpse into someone's soul. Her acoustic guitar chords will emanate insight into how this has impacted her life. She sings her way through her darkest times to get to the rainbow at the end, an...

Newcastle Comedy Society have been hard at work getting their show together, and have come agonisingly close to succeeding. They really want to improve the Fringe, and have decided the one thing it’s really lacking is student comedy. They’ve tried to get this Revue show to stand out from the rest though, and they reckon they’ve done it by making it, get this, funny. Ruled with an iron fist by the domineering Promoter, watch these poor, starving comedians try to fill an hour with an eclectic mix of sketch and stand-up. Life, death and art are just some of the things they won’t be covering. C...

ONE MC, ONE OPENER...THE HEADLINER! Tiziano La Bella's show is very interactive, especially the first part where he makes the crowd the main part of the act. The topics he talks about are several and well distinguished: his catholic childhood, the incoherence of the Italian fascists, the difficulties of being an immigrant in England... He grew up among people who always believed to be prepared to face the society and its obstacles, in spite of the fact they could only speak their own language and mind their own business. People who think they can do anything, but actually can't. These are ...
