One man. One beard. One backpack. One-way ticket. No idea!

Marcus Ryan (‘Love Me Tinder’ SOLD OUT Perth- Adelaide- Melbourne) took a little trip... 17 months later he was still going... "I was defrauded, robbed, arrested, held up at knife point, attacked, bribed & made bribes! Caught up in riot(s), Earthquake(s), Political protest(s). All plural! Drug smuggling & illegal border crossings, love, sex & prostitution. I hitchhiked, slept on the streets, climbed volcanoes and surfed down them. I came close to death. I found fame & Jesus at the Rio Olympics. I even learnt a language. Sort of. I took Ayahuasca & San Pedro on my "#journey". I avoided people who said the word journey. I chased snakes, crocs, caught piranha and a fever in the Amazon. I had a LOT of diarrhea!

But none of it compares to the torture of sleeping on the top bunk in a 20bed dorm of a party hostel with no fan, hot water or Wi-Fi. The horror! Was it all worth it? Most definitely! I met some weird and wonderful characters I’d like to introduce to you. I came home with a beard, a debt and bloody great stories! I invested a year and a half of my life. I reckon it's worth an hour of yours."

‘¿Hablas Inglés?’ follows the adventures & hilarious mishaps of a vagabond comedian performing stand-up comedy to survive in countries that never before had it. In English AND Spanish. No big deal. If you've ever felt like learning a new language, packing up and travelling the world or simply going on holiday, well this show might NOT be for you!

"You won't be disappointed." - West Australian

August 27, 2017  Fresh Air
Australian comedian, Marcus Ryan, combines culture and language in a show that explores the difficulties and highlights of solo travel. With the aid of a projector, Marcus begins the show in Spanish whilst donning the persona of an energetic Spaniard - a quirk that works very well. He then slips into his next character; a stereotype of a hippie-esque backpacker who claims to "be on a journey".
Throughout the next hour, Marcus continues to provide us with observational humour and wild tales from his adventures in Latin America. His spontaneity and ability to command the audience prove that he is a born-performer.
The show comes to an end with a rather poignant message, that in order to be comfortable in life you have to accept and be happy with yourself. But then of course, in true Marcus Ryan style, the message is flipped on its head; revealing a hilarious punch line and leaving the audience in hysterics.
'¿Hablas Inglés?' contains adult humour, character comedy and very relatable laughs. A must-see for anyone who enjoys witty banter and has travelled to another country at least once in their lives. Click Here

Melbourne Audience review
“This guy was really sweet and really funny. I almost wish I

would have gone earlier in the festival so I could have gone

twice. He sparks your sense of adventure and has a good

time doing it, and it’s an equally hilarious experience for both

Spanish speakers and non-speakers. Marcus is a strong story

teller and keeps you on the edge of your seat. As a Hispanic

person, I was surprised that I didn’t get uncomfortable, as I

fully expected to considering that Australians generally aren’t

very knowledgeable about Latin American culture. You are

basically losing money by not going, I ended up donating the

little bit that I had because I felt bad that I paid so little. This

show is not to be missed and I’m excited to see what he does

in the future!” (Ali R) – Audience member, Melbourne 2017
