Born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal, Canada, Virginie Fortin had such a beautiful childhood no one could have predicted she would turn out to be a comedian.

Some critics said she is uniquely hilarious, some still wonder why she is doing comedy, but The Huffington Post Quebec wrote this: “From behind a facade of faux-seriousness escape some pretty shocking comic gems, delivered with just enough corrosivity”.

Part social commentary, part philosophical essay and mostly funny, A Sad Joke About Life will be Fortin's second time at the Fringe.
