Located on the edge of the Bruntsfield Links is the Golf Tavern. Founded in 1456 the Tavern was previously known as the Golf Hotel, and is well known as the home of Edinburgh's City centre Golf course. Located close to our venues The Cuckoo's nest and Moriarty's, this forms part of our new West End venue hub, which has become a popular area of town in the last few years.

The Golf Tavern is a new venue that is located in or west-end venue hub, with a refurbished traditional bar downstairs, serving a full range of food and drinks. It is also host to Edinburgh's' city centre golf course, which can be utilised by performers for shows.

The Performance space is a cosy upstairs room, with a small stage area and benefits from additional cross promotion from it's owners other venues (Three Sisters, Cab Vol, Espionage) as well as the Free Festival's publicity. There a small backstage area, and dressing room area that can be utilised if needed. 

All photos here are of the room in an unrigged state, the room will be filly rigged and set for shows in August.

 

Performance Space: The Upstairs Bar

Stage - Roughly 2m Wide & 2 m deep flat on floor. Backstage through door to stage left - toilet upstairs can be made private and used for changing etc, main bar toilets on ground floor for customers.

Seating - Capacity 60 seated, with room for 40 people standing. Room is split into cost 60 seat area with a curtain that can be removed if busy so standees can see,

Lighting - 1xPar Can to flood light the stage.

Sound - 4 Channel Mixer, Cables for MP3 Player, 2 Mics, Cables and Mic stands. Performers own sound equipment can be added easily.

Audio Visual - There is a large TV screen that can be used at this venue.

Storage - There is a very small area for equipment in the venues cellar.

Bar - There is a bar in the room that can be opened or closed during performances.
