The Pear Tree is the hub of the
Counting House Complex, and the outdoor courtyard has
limitless possibilities for site specific performance, busking
and performance in a busy space. Centre piece of the courtyard,
amidst it's outdoor bar and barbecue is the 'Pear Tree Stage' -
a fully kitted out outdoor music stage and home of the annual
Free Music Festival since 2009.
During Fringe days and nights the
courtyard is always busy with Fringe goers and tourists, and it
is a area popular with people visiting nearby venues at Teviot,
George Square or are en-route to and from the Pleasance
